VeNA chief operating officer James Zipeure said the New Zealand operations, based in Auckland, were experiencing accelerating business opportunities as agencies and clients fine tune their budgets particularly for online video advertising.

Hyland is formerly general manager of Valued Interactive Media (VIM) in New Zealand, a business he founded in July 2010 and had grown significantly by the end of 2011. Prior to VIM, Hyland worked for 11 years in media and digital communications teams.

Says Zipeure: “Grant’s experience in the New Zealand industry and his leadership in online advertising platforms makes him ideal to be our local market lead. Our plans for New Zealand and other APAC expansion are well advanced and we will be making more announcements in the near future.”

Hyland said he expected the New Zealand online advertising market to grow quickly in 2012.

He commented: “Leading the VeNA New Zealand business and working with the agency’s international resources is a great opportunity. “
