BOTAB_Winners_FriendsElectric_0001.jpgA well deserved throw of the goats goes to BOTAB veterans, ‘Friends Electric’ (left) from Barnes, Catmur & Friends. It was their 5th year and finally they get their name on the coveted perspex trophy.

As best overall band they took away the grand prize of:

  • Drive a brand new Audi 1 Sport for a month, courtesy of Audi.
  • A production run of their very own designed ice cream flavour from Much Moore Ice Cream.
  • Lunch on the Battle of the Ad Bands Committee at Prego.
  • Recording of their original song thanks to LiquidStudios.
  • A music video produced by Flying Fish.
  • A publishing deal from Native Tongue Music Publishing, who will represent the winning song to advertisers, film producers, and television producers worldwide.

BOTAB_TheHathaways_0001.jpgThe best wildcard interpretation was taken out by perennial BOTAB bridesmaids, ‘The Hathaways’, with their bunny-eared version of Art Gurfunkel’s song – Brighteyes. They’ll be getting a $500 lunch courtesy of Mandy Post Production.

Taxidermy from DDB started the night with a great BOTAB_Taxidermy_0001.jpgoriginal song so they took out the best original, and for their efforts they’ll get a $500 lunch from Marsden Inch.

Best costume went to “The Clock Guy”, better known as MC Carlizzle Sarney, from DraftFCB’s “Pegasus”. Best musician went to Joe Lonie from Flying Fish’s “Burning Sensations.” And best vocalist was taken out, amidst BOTAB_Pegasus_0002.jpgsome serious competition, by Adam Stevenson from Ogilvy’s “The Hathaways”. They all got 2 bottles of Jack Daniels and an LP cover art book.

Jason Bock from Flying Fish’s “Burning Sensations” got tickets to Linkin Park as “most likely to get groupies.”

The BOTAB committee would like BOTAB_BurningSensations_0001.jpgto thank MC TJ Macdonald and the judges Jon Bridges, Rose Matafaeo, and Matt Warman. The BOTAB committee also acknowledges the sponsors: CAANZ, Flying Fish, Audi, Marsden Inch Recruitment, MANDY, Radio Hauraki, LiquidStudios, Native Tongue, Envy Studios, Much Moore Ice Cream, Direct Mail Solutions, and BOTAB_Awards_0006.jpgStopPress.
