Fight Fair 2.jpgRhys Darby is back and “Fighting for Fair” in Whybin\TBWA’s latest campaign for 2degrees.

To pay homage to the late CEO Eric Hertz, the TVC which launched last night, will run for two days as a never seen before 62 second slot, closing with a heartfelt message: “This one’s for you boss.”

Fight Fair.jpgSays David Walden, Whybin\TBWA New Zealand founder: “It’s a final tipping of the hat to our mate Eric and a sign of respect for everything he gave to 2degrees. TVNZ and TV3 have kindly agreed to the unprecedented 62 second timeslot, which means we could send a special message from the agency and the 2degrees team.”

The campaign, which supports the launch of 2degrees’ new Carryover Data, sees Darby take on the personas of a boxer, Robin Hood and the Right Honourable David Lange in his crusade for fairness.

Says Andy Blood, Whybin\TBWA executive creative director: “We worked with Rhys to bring to life characters and historic figures who have fought for the underdog. We wanted to remind Kiwi’s that 2degrees is the only telco that actively champions fairness and goes out of its way to support the little guy.”

The “Fighting for Fair” TVC, will be supported by a retail campaign, as well as online and outdoor executions. Thirty-second product TVCs introducing Carryover Minutes on Prepay and Carryover Data on Pay Monthly will follow from the 24th of April.

Says Malcolm Phillipps, 2degrees chief marketing officer: “The ‘fighting for fair’ concept is a true reflection of the driving force behind our brand and works well as an integrated campaign. As a business, we work really hard to bring a fair deal to our customers and create products and campaigns that reflect that.

“The end-frame tribute to Eric was a fitting way for us to remember him. He will be missed dearly.”
