Anna Kennedy joins 8 in EP role
After 12 years in agency land, Anna Kennedy (left) has jumped the fence to production side to take on the role of executive producer. Kennedy will work alongside managing director and executive producer, Katie Millington (right) to further expand the business in New Zealand.
Says Millington: “I’ve had a producer crush on Anna since the very first job we did together when I moved to NZ four years ago. We’ve built a professional respect for each other as well as a solid personal friendship. She’s one of the best producers I’ve ever worked with and we couldn’t be happier.”
Says Kennedy: “Not to get all Oscars speech on it, but my 12 years at Saatchis were very happy years. I worked with some incredibly talented people and I made some really cool stuff. Prior to advertising I worked in theatre and television as an actor and writer, so when the opportunity at 8 presented itself, production company side just felt like a good marriage between the two worlds. I love what 8 stands for, I believe in the brand, I’ve seen it go from strength to strength, and I look forward to helping Katie take the business to the next level. I’d also like to thank my Mum. #dreamgig.”
With a stable of 10 directors and the announcement of a two new additions to the roster to be made shortly, 8 has offices in Freemans Bay, Auckland and Surry Hills, Sydney.

As a Sealord lover and fan, I think this is a great move for Kennedy.
I remember her in Target, she was awesome! Ah, the good old days. One of my exes went to high school with her too, in Lower Hutt.
