Sanitarium and Raydar bring back collectable card game sensation Weet-Bix Stat Attack
This year Weet-Bix are taking All Blacks collectable cards to a whole new level. Twelve years after first going viral across New Zealand, the reimagined Stat Attack game will allow a new generation of Kiwi kids to get closer to their rugby heroes than ever before.
Brought to life with the help of Shopper Marketing agency Raydar, the collectable game teaches kids simple, wholesome play while encouraging healthy social interaction.
2019 sees the release of 40 beautifully designed collector cards featuring competitive statistics for 33 current All Blacks, 6 Legends and current Head Coach Steve Hansen. Players simply take turns selecting a winning statistic which is matched, head to head, with cards of other players. The card with the highest statistic wins the hand and the player who collects all the cards wins the game. Players improve their game by learning strengths and stats of specific cards.
Says Jane Grayson, senior brand manager, Sanitarium: “We’re really excited to see Weet-Bix Stat Attack come to life, especially with the hype around rugby this year. It’s been great working with the Raydar team on this significant project. We’re really impressed with their strategic and creative approach, and are thrilled with the result.”
With demand expected to be huge, a total of 4 million cards will be distributed through specially designed Weet-Bix wheat biscuits packs. Card collectors will be able to win the chance to store their cards in a limited edition Stat Attack album or Stat Attack collectors’ tin, available exclusively from participating retailers.
The fully integrated campaign kicks off in early August and is being supported with a combination of TVC, OOH, content, website, direct mail, packaging and shopper all developed by Raydar.

To whom it may concern,
Today we purchased two 1.2 kg boxes on the front they say they come with “4 free cards inside” how ever both boxes purchased came with 3 cards, also some people at my school in the mail reserved a starter box witch I did not.
Kind regards,
Kyle Habeck
I’ve just had the same thing happen – bought 3 boxes and all 3 boxes have only 3 cards in each. Not impressed!
What an awesome campaign!
Also a big shoutout to PHD Media, who also did an amazing job getting all the incredible creative out to the market 🙂
To whom it may concern,
On the 21/8/19 I purchased 2 boxes of Weet-bix cereal which said there were “3 Free( STAT ATTACK ) cards inside”
when opened both packets did not contain any cards.
I had purchased a box early and found no cards inside, and thought it was a one off.
I purchased the 2 boxes so as to get the free tin to hold the cards, but found no cards to put in it.
I have been Eating and purchasing “Weet-Bix” for more than 40 years.
The bar code on 1 box is 9 414942 0 10750 above it had V2182.12 (6/19) in case you had a bad batch so may need to recall,
as this can be seen as false advertising.
Regards
Tony
What a lovely set!! Super smart looking and containing all the elements required for serious collectors (Cards look good, are named, numbered and are the perfect size to fit in the plastic 9-pocket pages that collectors use to store and display cards). Great job people 🙂
