Calling creative agencies looking for a new home – Iconic 204 Quay Street now available for lease

An exciting opportunity to lease an iconic workspace with a rich creative history has arisen, set to appeal to advertising and creative agencies. 204 Quay Street is located in the heart of the Viaduct, offering sensational waterfront views, and all the amenities of Commercial Bay’s retail and hospitality precinct just a short stroll away.
Owned by NZX listed Precinct Properties, New Zealand’s largest owner and developer of premium inner-city centre real estate, the space across the top floor of 204 Quay St was previously home to several high-profile ad agencies including The Bates Palace, Generator Bates and famed for the advertising parties and soirees held there over the years, including celebrations for New Zealand’s America’s Cup win in 2000.
With a large 800 sqm floorplate, ample natural light, generous stud and its own private balcony with Viaduct vistas, the workspace has been fully refurbished for up to 60 staff. Coupled with enviable amenities and dining destinations on the doorstep, this is an exceptional location that adds to the appeal of working together in the office, and for industries where creativity breeds creativity, 204 Quay Street has a great pedigree.

I can vouch for the quality of hangovers that that those fine offices have produced.
Indeed, the lowering of the large native into the middle of the office during one particular refit cost about as much as Colenso’s 2022 quarterly profit.
Ahh…the good old days… before it all became safe, PC, overtly inclusive and the constant fear of offending people killed the dangerous work.
All I’ll say is bring back the Friday drinks trolley.
You remind me of that carpet.
That carpet produced some of NZ’s finest ad campaigns. At least, for a couple of years.
However, I do remember that ‘carpet’ being actual carpet, not that Bunnings style el-cheapo vinyl stuff in the photo.
I might request a viewing to relive old memories, or even suggest to the Axis Committee that the Axis after party is held there.
Actually, the Marketing Awards are coming up and they always need a bit of livening up being a client and suits event, so perhaps I’ll suggest it to their committee. It’s a long shot. They’re a dour lot.
The only downside with that office is that in the afternoon that incredible view is so beautiful that it makes work hard to do.
Saying all that though, Friday night drinks were always legendary at that place.
Well done Precinct for having the smarts to buy it.
