Creatives take home the inaugural UnLtd: Big Shot NZ netball trophy
Over 80 people across the Auckland media and marketing industry came together on Thursday, 14 September to pivot and pass for good at the UnLtd: Big Shot netball competition.
The inaugural tournament, kindly sponsored by MediaWorks, saw usual competitors put their differences aside and gather into teams of Creative, Tech, Media Owner and Media Agency.
The event raised funds for UnLtd’s work supporting charities helping young Kiwis at risk.
Says Brendan Muller, general manager of UnLtd Aotearoa: “What an incredible day! It was fantastic to see the industry come together to battle it out on those netball courts – the competition was fierce! It was a great example of how our industry can make a positive difference whilst having fun and getting some healthy exercise!”
Played with the Fast5 Netball rules, the games were fast and furious with Team Agencies and Team Creatives making it through to the finals. The final game was tight with Creatives taking the win with a score of 27 to 26. Helena Cribb from Dentsu and Zac Columbus from Lumo were selected as the Players of the Day.
The players were also treated to a special welcome and warm-up by Silver Ferns Phoenix Karaka, Maia Wilson and Peta Toeava, DJ Sean Hill from The Edge as well as a 360-degree photobooth activation by sponsors MediaWorks.
