DDB and Colenso BBDO share Campaign Brief 2011 New Zealand Agency of the Year title
New Zealand’s two top agencies Colenso BBDO and DDB Auckland were neck-in-neck during 2010 when it comes to everything that’s important in a great agency: stable management, record profits and all-round creative excellence. So, in 2010 Campaign Brief has broken with tradition to choose joint winners, awarding both Colenso BBDO and DDB New Zealand Campaign Brief’s NZ Agency of the Year title.
For the second year in a row DDB Auckland, the biggest and fastest growing agency in New Zealand, is CB’s New Zealand Agency of the Year – an accolade it shares this year with closest rival Colenso BBDO, Auckland.
DDB NZ consistently punches above its weight in just about every global creative ranking. DDB NZ was placed =28th most awarded agency in the world in the 2010 Gunn Report and ranked #18 most awarded agency in the world in The Big Won, the first time it has cracked the top 20.
Colenso BBDO, Auckland couldn’t miss a trick in 2010, breaking records all over New Zealand. Not content with winning the country’s biggest ever haul at Cannes with 10 Lions, the same work went on to win a record 13 New Zealand EFFIE awards earning it the Effectiveness Agency of the Year. Revenue exceeded budget by 10 per cent and the agency had its strongest organic growth ever, growing its profit by 12 per cent, its highest level in over 40 years.
Meanwhile, Clemenger BBDO, Melbourne has taken out the CB Australian Agency of the Year title for the third successive year. Capping off another highly successful twelve months, which saw the agency become the most creative, the most effective and most profitable it’s ever been, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne is now recognised globally as setting the benchmark for excellence among Australian agencies. Apart from its many creative accolades and winning Most Effective Agency of the Year at the Effie Awards, the agency posted its best profit in 60 years, reaching billings of $270m.

How diplomatic and uncontroversial.
Third umpire?
Colenso
Any fool knows DDB is this country’s top agency. What are you thinking Lynchy? Well done Toby.
Just the fools though eh?
If it’s that close, how about a public vote?
Record profits? Neat-o. Here’s hoping for another $40K Burger King job this year. – Bitter FC
ohh a tie with Colenso. That’ll Piss Toby off.
Both great shops, so it was always going to be tough.
Having said that, Colenso just feel a tad fresher and more innovative.
