Spark has launched a new film called ‘Wedding Speech’ via Colenso BBDO, continuing its Little Can Be Huge series.
It tells the story of the months leading up to a wedding. An already emotional time is complicated by the sudden hospitalisation of the bride’s father. As it unfolds, the film looks at the powerful connection between a father and daughter, their shared optimism, and a wedding gift made possible by everyday technology.
Says Levi Slavin, CCO, Colenso BBDO: “We made this film to remind Kiwis that the technology in our lives can help create profoundly human moments. At their best, our devices can help us be more human.”
Directed by Christopher Riggert at FINCH, ‘Wedding Speech’ juxtaposes the audio from the wedding day celebration with pictures showing the often-fraught journey running up to the big day. The technique highlights the wide range of emotions that are a hallmark of every close relationship, blending happiness and sadness to create something textured and real.
Says Sarah Williams, brand experience tribe lead, Spark: “Spark is a digital services company – we put connected devices with incredible cameras in the pockets of New Zealanders around the country. This video reminds us that the amazing technology we all use every day is there for one reason: to connect us and bring people closer to each other.”
The film will run on TV, online and in cinema.
