In its latest business brand campaign Spark is serving up Kiwi documentary maker and journalist David Farrier in a not so familiar setting to what we’re recently used to seeing him in. The campaign, developed by Shine, celebrates Spark’s 5G innovation, with Farrier talking to businesses around how 5G will enable game changing technology in their industries.

Kicked off with a 30 sec teaser film introducing the idea of ‘What’s your driverless car?’. Using New Zealand’s first 5G connected driverless car as a real-life metaphor to showcase the limitless technology possibilities that 5G will bring to businesses.

The series is centered around Paymark, an innovative Kiwi FinTech, Patience Project, a not for profit organisation and Emirates Team New Zealand – our national sailing team.

Used as a quick-witted sounding board, Farrier – facilitates conversation around how 5G will advance their businesses and Americas Cup prospects.

Spark’s brand experience lead, Sarah Williams, says the driverless car campaign will tell both practical and visionary stories across the duration of the campaign.

Says Williams: “Spark wants to be a key enabler of innovation by collaborating with some of our best and brightest New Zealand businesses.

“Kiwi businesses need to start thinking and talking about what their driverless car is and what their 5G future might be.”

Spark’s new business campaign will include a mix of above the line content including a TVC, AV social content, online, and out of home marketing placements.

Says Williams: “It was great working with such a respected journalist like David Farrier, to really be able to tell engaging stories around 5G and kiwi businesses. The content series is hosted on the Spark Lab website, which gives business owners access to thought leadership, practical tools, insights and industry leading events.”
