Auckland based photographer Vanessa Wu, represented by Match Photographers, has been selected to appear in the 9th edition of Lürzer’s Archive 200 Best Advertising Photographers Worldwide 2020/21.
The special edition was released globally this month. Recognised as the “creative bible” – selection for placement with Lürzer’s Archive recognises photographers amongst the worlds best.
Vanessa is only the second NZ female photographer to feature in the archive – and was selected alongside fellow Match Photographers Paul Ross Jones, Ross Brown, Steve Boniface, Fraser Clements and Troy Goodall. The agency now boasts 6 photographers being amongst the worlds best.
Vanessa is well known for her beautiful, minimalist yet distinctly feminine style. She is an accomplished photographer and videographer with a passion for still life and food. Her work appears regularly in advertising campaigns for well-known brands including Kapiti, Vogels and others. She has been on the board of the AIPA (NZ Photographers Association) and has won awards locally and internationally including Clio and Axis Awards, in addition to gold, silver and bronze AIPA awards.
With nearly 3 decades spent in the industry – selection by Lürzer’s Archive is particularly poignant for Vanessa marking her longevity as an advertising photographer. In a world where, thanks to smartphone technology, everyone is a photographer this special edition is a celebration of those who have truly dedicated themselves to their craft.
