Cathay Pacific appoints Eleven PR

Eleven PR has been appointed by Hong Kong’s premium airline and national carrier, Cathay Pacific, to manage its New Zealand public relations.

Tasked with growing the Cathay Pacific brand presence in New Zealand and raising awareness of its expansive global network and young fleet, the appointment will see Eleven PR manage the airline’s consumer public relations and crisis management.

The appointment comes as Cathay Pacific celebrates the arrival of the A350-1000, the most technologically advanced aircraft in the world, along with an increased flight schedule for Christchurch.

Says Angelina Farry, managing director, Eleven PR: “We’re passionate about travel and excited to be partnering with Cathay Pacific to raise awareness of their brand in this market. Eleven offers best-in-class local PR strategy plus a Trans-Tasman operating model. This means our Trans-Tasman clients benefit from a collaborative PR team working to one unified strategy, using shared methodologies. It’s an attractive proposition for clients who have offices in both New Zealand and Australia.”

Says Louise Rathbone, regional head of marketing and digital ANZ, Cathay Pacific: “We’re pleased to be partnering with Eleven PR in New Zealand. PR is a key component of our Regional Marketing Strategy. With the implementation of a Trans-Tasman agency model we are now working more collaboratively with one PR team who seamlessly share strategy and best practice, helping us to reduce double-handing and optimise outputs. This in turn is allowing us to concentrate our marketing efforts on elevating our brand presence in Australia and New Zealand.”
