Trade Me pushes the trash/treasure paradigm even further in latest campaign via Colenso BBDO and Clemenger BBDO

Trade Me has extended its recent ‘There’s someone for everything’ platform via Colenso BBDO and Clemenger BBDO, proving that no matter what you’re selling on Trade Me, there’s someone out there who’ll love it.

Launched in the first week of 2020, the two new spots for Trade Me Jobs and Trade Me Motors are now running across TV and social media.

Just like previous work in the campaign, the ads feature two characters reading almost identical scripts, but with different intonation.

Says Regan Savage, marketing director, Trade Me: “The feedback to the first round of work was so positive, we are rapt to have the opportunity to extend the campaign to our Jobs business, and to bring our industry-leading Motors Background Check product to life.”

Says Levi Slavin, chief creative officer, Colenso BBDO: “There truly is someone for everything on Trade Me. We just bought a rugby playing taxidermy possum on there. We’ve named him Gary. We couldn’t be happier with this work. Or with Gary.”

The campaign was directed by Dave Wood via Good Oil.
