Clemenger Group New Zealand awarded for commitment to climate action

Clemenger Group New Zealand – the country’s leading group of advertising, marketing communications agencies – has been awarded a Toitū carbonreduce certification. This acknowledges the Group’s commitment and action towards a low-carbon economy.

The certification from Toitū Envirocare provides tangible proof that businesses, like Clemenger Group, are acting on climate change. They are assessed in line with international standards aligned with ISO14064.

Says Jim Gall (pictured), CEO, Clemenger Group NZ: “This is another important step in our commitment to sustainability in New Zealand. We want to do the right thing by not only our people and clients, but for the environments where we live and work.

“The process has highlighted where we can reduce our carbon emissions, but also work towards creating an even more sustainable organisation.”

As part of the certification, Clemenger Group NZ underwent an evaluation of its greenhouse gas footprint. It provided a programme and pathway to ensure operations are helping to reduce its carbon footprint by 28% by 2025.

The process measured and set reduction targets for operational emissions, including electricity, business travel, fleet fuel use and offices across all the New Zealand businesses.

Clemenger Group NZ agencies Porter Novelli and Colenso BBDO have also been signatories of the Climate Leaders Coalition since 2018. The Toitū carbonreduce certification recognises some of the measures they have taken as part of this broader commitment to climate action.

Clemenger Group NZ is a Toitū carbonreduce certified organisation in line with ISO 14064-1. They are also Toitū enviromark gold accredited, a system that meets and exceeds the requirements of ISO 14001:2015 for organisational environmental performance.
