Resn and Bader Rutter Win Awwwards Site of the Year for ‘Pioneer – Corn Revolutionized’

Pioneer – Corn Revolutionized”, from digital experience and design studio Resn and agency Bader Rutter, has been named Site of the Year at Awwwards’ annual awards ceremony.

Awwwards, the world’s premier web competition body, is dedicated to recognizing “the talent and effort of the best web designers, developers and agencies in the world”. The website was chosen as best of the year by the Awwwards jury, a global panel of experts representing the most important designers, creative directors, bloggers and agencies in the industry.

Says Rik Campbell, global managing director, Resn: “We set out to create something exceptional with this site and we’re proud to share this award with our partners Bader Rutter. Their generous approach to collaboration allowed us to push the envelope of creativity and technology for an amazing client that shared in our vision.

“As a team, we always aim to create work that’s inspiring and meaningful to deliver deeper engagements in alignment with our clients’ business objectives. We call that the Resn Effect and it’s on full-display with Pioneer.”

Although Pioneer is one of the most iconic agricultural brands in the world, it needed to communicate the value farmers get when using Pioneer’s unique corn seed and create a digital narrative to differentiate the brand. The website highlights Pioneer’s game-changing R&D with spectacular visuals.

Resn created the digital imagery and video from the ground up using Jelly, its proprietary Web3D pipeline. Leveraging Jelly’s ability to combine state-of-the-art 3D animation with fast load times, it tells the story of how Pioneer develops new varieties of corn, from lab to field. Through the choreography of 2D assets, 3D models and interactive elements, the story explains each step in the R&D process in an engaging way, capturing its audience’s attention and changing long-held perceptions about the brand.

Says Campbell: “This site made people sit up and take notice, which is something that’s more important now than ever. With the marketing world being heavily disrupted due to COVID, brands need to quickly find innovative solutions that are digitally delivered. Over the last year, we’ve seen a surge in demand for services like Jelly and Toast which let our clients showcase their products in unique and exciting ways. They’re looking for a competitive advantage that will allow them to be a step ahead in the evolution of the digital user experiences and Resn can help them achieve that.”

For Resn, which has twice won the Awwwards Agency of the Year title at previous Awwwards conferences, it was the first Site of the Year win.

Adds Campbell: “It’s an extraordinary achievement and a testament to the skill of our team. Online product showcases like Pioneer are the future of digital user experiences. Watch this space.”
