Sébastien Desclée joins FCB New Zealand from Publicis Groupe Belgium in the role of CEO

FCB has today announced the appointment of Sébastien Desclée as CEO of FCB New Zealand. Desclée is returning to the FCB network where he was previously president of international markets, overseeing the FCB footprint in Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Latin America.

 

Says Carter Murray, worldwide CEO, FCB: “Sebastien’s experience integrating the key agency disciplines of creativity, media, and data and tech as the former President of FCB International will create an additional dimension to our already strong offering for clients in New Zealand. We’re continuing to invest in our FCB New Zealand offering and excited to see our clients benefit from this investment. Sebastien is an inclusive and agile leader who wears his passion for creativity and client’s businesses on his sleeve and I think he will be a key driver in continuing to build the best of all things FCB New Zealand.”

Desclée joins FCB from Publicis Groupe in [Belgium] where he was the global client lead for Heineken. Prior to Publicis Groupe. His first stint at FCB began in 2013 and also included being CEO of Fuelcontent, FCB’s global production arm and where he developed content production hubs in South Africa, Canada and India.

From his previous stint at FCB, Desclée was familiar with FCB New Zealand and he is excited for the opportunity and is looking forward to getting started: “To lead one of the jewels in the FCB crown was too good to pass up. I have always admired the work, the people and clients at FCB New Zealand and have to say they have been a continiuous source of inspiration throughout my career. I want to apply what I have learned from my recent international experience for the benefit of FCB New Zealand’s clients and bring a global perspective to this market, working closely with clients and business leads, to help propel their growth.”

Desclée joins the agency at the end of August, after moving from Europe and will be working remotely with clients and the team at FCB until that date.
