First Five Rungs encourages industry to have a Chattuccino this Mental Health Awareness Week

Communications Council New Zealand’s Youth Leadership Committee, the First Five Rungs (FFR) is encouraging managers across the industry to take time and connect with their juniors over a Chattuccino this Thursday, 30 September between 9 and 10 am.

Following the recent national lockdowns, many juniors are feeling the pressure of working from home while still finding their footing in the industry. No matter the lockdown status, the FFR Chattuccino serves as the perfect opportunity for managers to observe Mental Health Awareness Week with a set time for managers to find out how their team members are really feeling.

Those in Auckland are encouraged to meet virtually for a casual Chattuccino where all pressures are removed, and honest conversations can really take place. Anyone who may want assistance in breaking the ice, can find inspiration on FFR’s Facebook page throughout the week.

If you’re in Wellington, managers and their team members can head down to The Lab – Food & Beverage co cafés during the Mental Health Awareness moment to receive a ‘two for one’ deal – just another reason to sit down and connect!

To be a part of the Mental Health Awareness moment this week, simply pop a Chattuccino – virtual or IRL – catch up in your team members diary and make the time to chat!

Mental Health Awareness Week runs from Monday 27 September – 3 October 2021 with a focus on checking in with those around you to support wellbeing.

The First Five Rungs is a Comms Council initiative made up of young people across the communications industry, whose mission is to help industry newcomers receive the best possible start.
