A fresh approach to small business recovery – One Day Video launches epic giveaway of a free video package valued at $6,000
In the midst of grim stories about businesses closing up shop and well-loved brands going under, an Auckland-based family business is offering a hopeful perspective and a giveaway of a FREE video package valued at $6,000.
One Day Video (ODV) is a production company run by two brothers in their 20’s. They were approaching their biggest months of the year when lockdown hit. Now they can’t get out of Auckland to film and have lost clients and revenue, much like the rest of Auckland’s business community.
But the company is keeping its head above water with a new approach to recovery.
Says Matt Dawson, co-founder, ODV: “Perhaps counterintuitively, we believe the way forward for companies like ours is to let go of being aggressively competitive as we try to recover, and instead take a cooperative approach.”
That’s why the production company is today launching a giveaway designed to encourage “businesses helping businesses” toward economic recovery.
Says Jacob Dawson, co-founder, ODV: “It’s pretty bleak for small businesses right now, which is why we want to encourage other companies like ours to adopt a mindset of collaboration. So we’re giving away what we can – a free video.”
The package is worth $6,000 and ODV says any kind of business can enter, whether that’s a start-up trying to get off the ground, a not-for-profit that has an important message to communicate, or simply, any business stung by Covid.

The giveaway is open for submissions until 25th October.
Three finalists will be chosen by One Day Video and put to public vote with the winner announced by 10th November.
