Osborne Shiwan scores prestigious Red Dot and wins Gold at Good Design Awards

The winners of this year’s Red Dot Awards have been announced, with Auckland-based creative agency Osborne Shiwan taking out a Red Dot for Godavari Diamonds.

Naoto Fukasawa Design were awarded a Red Dot for its TG packaging, promoting the use of traditional colours from Taiwanese culture.

Vogue Scandavia won for its packaging design, with fibre-based and renewable materials, reflecting their commitment to sustainability.

The jury said: “Today more than ever, digital solutions, branding and social responsibility are hugely significant for a company’s success. The special design quality demonstrated by the award-winning works in these areas is further proof of their relevance.”

Osborne Shiwan also took out a Gold for Godavari Diamonds at this year’s Good Design Awards.

The jury commented: “What a beautiful and elegant design solution grounded in sustainable luxury and bespoke craftsmanship. Such an original and carefully considered piece of packaging design that is simple yet bold and highly original.”

Says Dr. Brandon Gien, CEO of Good Design Australia: “The importance of embracing good design principles is now more important than ever as many businesses around the world have had to completely re-think their business strategies to remain competitive. The standard of design excellence represented in this year’s Awards is the best I’ve ever seen in my 25 years of running these Awards.”

It’s been a busy 12 months for Osborne Shiwan, with Godavari Diamonds being included as an honoree in Fast Company’s Innovation by Design last year, alongside brands such as Allbirds and Samsung.
