Indie agency True bolsters creative and design offering with several key appointments

Independent creative agency True has announced several new appointments as the agency moves to a multi-disciplinary way of working across broader brand experiences.

Debbie Currie has joined from Colenso BBDO as a group business director.

Says Matt Dickinson, CEO, True: “Right from her very first day, we knew Debbie was a brilliant hire. She’s smart, strategic, collaborative, and just immensely good fun to be around.”

Says Currie: “There’s something pretty special about True’s approach to the work. The collaboration across specialities and the doing away with traditional processes is leading to more exciting and unexpected solutions for our clients. It’s a buzzy place to be.”

Jane Langley moves into the role of associate creative director after two years with True.

Says Matt Heays, creative director, True: “Jane has played a key creative role with some of our longest standing clients, and she brings so much energy and passion to her work, her clients and the wider team. Her new role is really a reflection of that.”

Jake Siddall previously of YoungShand and Colenso, joins as associate creative director alongside Jane Langley.

Says Heays: “We’ve known Jake for a while and have admired his creative talents, so we were thrilled to have him join the True team. He’s a great guy and his work speaks for itself. I know Jane and Jake will make for quite the dynamic duo.”

Says Siddall: “I’ve always felt advertising is a team sport and at True I’m delighted to be surrounded by a squad with such immense talent and an ambition to create great work. Also, a bunch of damn nice people too. Game on.”

Sarskia and Shiv True also welcomes Sarskia Melville as design lead to work alongside Shiv Narandas.

Says Heays: “Both Sarskia and Shiv are exceptional designers, specialising in branding and packaging. Shiv also has a strong interest in design in the fashion space. They complement each other’s style and approach to design in an exciting way that we haven’t been able to offer before.”
