Award winning digital duo Sarah Verkuylen and Jessica Blake reunite at Wave Agency

Wave Agency has bolstered its data-led digital offering in the Bay of Plenty and Auckland, following increased demand from its national and international client base.

Sarah Verkuylen, (above right) who is ex-Proximity, Colenso, has been recruited as head of digital in a new, Auckland-based role for the full-service agency. She joins Wave’s digital team lead, Jessica Blake (left), who worked alongside Verkuylen for over four years within the BBDO group. The pair delivered award-winning digital and social strategy and implementation for some of APAC’s most progressive brands including Spark, Mars, Fonterra, and Visa.

Says Glenn Dougal, managing director at Wave Agency: “In this increasingly challenging market we knew we needed to do more to allow our clients to deliver on their brand goals swiftly, with more informed, insight-led creativity.

“It’s always been about a right-fit message or experience showing up at opportune moments for audience engagement – and by further leveraging data we can continue to deliver on that in a myriad of more sophisticated ways online.”

Verkuylen has already embedded herself into the role and is excited to see what the team can achieve, adding: “As an agency, we are focused on demystifying digital solutions for our clients – helping them to develop attainable roadmaps that impact success at a business level. “We love surfacing meaningful, digestible analytics that put our clients in the driving seat of digital decision-making.”

As for getting the ‘dream team’ back together, Blake said she’s enjoying merging expertise with her friend and former colleague once more: “It’s great to have Sarah join the Wave team. Between us both, we hold 30 years of digital-marketing experience, and we’ve seen every trend out there. We are just as passionate as each other about delivering real insights and lasting results.”
