Bev recommends BCITO for a career in construction in new campaign via EightyOne
The Building Construction Industry Training Organisation (BCITO) – a subsidiary of Te Pūkenga Work Based Learning – alongside partners EightyOne and MBM have built on the legacy of the “Tricky Chat” trilogy with a new campaign to encourage school leavers, young professionals and career switchers alike to consider a career in the trades.
Enter Bev. Aotearoa’s most biased career advisor. With her deep knowledge and appreciation of the benefits of an apprenticeship and working in the trades, she knows there’s only one option for any young person looking for a rewarding and fulfilling career: construction of course!
Says Asharie Martelletti, head of marketing and communications, BCITO: “This campaign is more than driving recruitment, it’s also about changing perception. We’re really thrilled that EightyOne and MBM have been on this journey with us as we continue to build people, build whanau and build communities.”
EightyOne ECD Chris Bleackley believes that: “Bev is nowhere near as biased as me. I reckon the team and everyone involved did a fantastic job.”
Bev the biased career advisor is live on TV, online, outdoor and social channels.

Nice work Eighty one. A worthy successor.
Love this.
Good shop 81. Going places. Well done.
I really like this. Watched it twice the other day and could probably rattle off the proof points and parts of the script if someone asked me.
These are sweet. Nice job.
Some of the best work i’ve seen this year
High five to BCITO and all involved. Always done good work.
