Rabbit signs rising talent Aimée-Lee Xu Hsien for representation in Australia and New Zealand

Rabbit has signed director and writer Aimée-Lee Xu Hsien, launching with the latest Summer Lamb campaign for MLA via The Monkeys.

As evident by the recent MLA campaign, Aimée-Lee’s strength comes in her performance direction and her innate ability to bring out the best from whoever she is capturing on screen. Initially cutting her teeth in art department before moving into directing, Aimée-Lee’s keen eye for detail and distinct visual style is present in everything she creates.

Aimée-Lee is also a talented narrative filmmaker; her recently completed comedy web-series, Pleasant Avenue, was made with investment from both Screen Australia and Create NSW. Written and directed by Aimée-Lee, the series stars a slew of Australian stars including Heather Mitchell, Ursula Yovich and John Batchelor.

Says Aimée-Lee: “Finding a home at Rabbit has been beyond awesome. Kicking off together on a huge job like MLA was very fun – a great vibe with a lot of laughs from the get go. I feel like I’ve found my people, and I’m stoked to join a company with so many directors and producers whose work I respect.”

Says Alex Hay, managing director/EP/partner, Rabbit: “Aimée-Lee is a rare talent because she can can work across genres and styles of direction. Be it comedy, drama, visual effects or music driven work, she’s a performance director with a huge amount of passion for what she does and for doing it really, really well. She’s also incredibly funny and charming which makes working with her a pleasure. We’re beyond thrilled that she’s decided to call Rabbit her home.”
