Breakout Room promotes Sarah Tuxford to Account Director; Gareth McDade joins as Designer
Creative and production studio Breakout Room, part of media agency MBM, continues its stellar start to 2024 with an exciting new hire and a much celebrated promotion.
Sarah Tuxford has been promoted from Senior Producer to Account Director. Her new role will see her leading client service across the agency’s client portfolio as well as overseeing Breakout Room’s team of producers.
Tuxford joined Breakout Room three years ago, with more than a decade of production, project and client management experience under her belt thanks to previous roles at Colenso BBDO, Local Peoples (Melbourne), AKQA (London) and VMLY&R (London).
Says General Manager Kat Day: “Sarah is an asset to Breakout Room with her cool head and keen focus on detail. She’s well loved by her clients, who appreciate her can-do approach, and her team, thanks to her kind and supportive nature and her natural ability to make every work day fun. She is already such an integral part of the team and it is exciting to see her shift into a more strategic, client focused role.”
Adding to Breakout Room’s in-house studio and production offering, Gareth McDade joins the team as Designer. Hailing from South Africa, Gareth has extensive experience in retail and shopper marketing, social media design and animation. Gareth’s love for creative problem solving comes from over 15 years of design work in Durban and New Zealand, most recently at Hypermedia NZ. Gareth will lead design across all clients and touchpoints in his new role, from social and AV content to experiential activations, brand and PR campaigns.
“We are very lucky to secure someone of Gareth’s experience and talent to join our team” says Day. “And Gareth has impressed already with his creative problem solving mindset, eye for beautiful design as well as his animation skills. It’s been a busy start to 2024 with some exciting new client briefs and wins, and our awesome team of storytellers and makers have hit the ground running!”
Both Tuxford and McDade will be working across Breakout Room’s Auckland and Wellington offices.
