Popeyes New Zealand appoints Hearts & Science as lead media agency in Aotearoa

After years of hope and speculation from Kiwis, Popeyes, the original Louisiana fried chicken is finally making its way to New Zealand this April. After a rigorous pitch process, the world’s largest growing quick service restaurant has appointed Hearts & Science as its media agency – covering strategy, data, AdTech, PR, partnerships, media planning and buying.

Popeyes first restaurant is set to open late April in Takanini and is expected to open several more restaurants around the country in quick succession, bringing in approximately $25 million of investment into the country in the coming years.

Says Sharn Phillips, head of marketing, Popeyes MF – New Zealand: “It’s important for us to have partners that we can heavily rely on to propel our business forward as we focus on the implementation of our stores. Hearts & Science were the perfect partner for us due to the blend of strategic nous and data-driven innovation. Coupled with their growing reputation in market, it made the decision an easy one to make. ”

Says Cassidy Meredith, general manager, Hearts & Science: “We’re excited to be partnering with such a global iconic brand – that is Popeyes. At Hearts & Science, we know how to transform key signals into meaningful connections between brands and consumers that drive exponential growth. It’s a brilliant brand with a phenomenal product offering that we know New Zealanders will absolutely love.”
