Video production company Yarn Creative marks new chapter with rebrand to Stori Films
Stori Films, formerly known as Yarn Creative, has announced its rebranding today, affirming the direction it is taking as a company. The video production house is focused on delivering human-centric storytelling services to its clients, an approach that resonates well with the current trends in the industry.
With the increasing popularity of videos as a medium for brand promotion it is also increasingly challenging to create content that perfectly captures the essence of a brand. That’s where Stori Films excels – the company’s skills lie in creating videos that humanise brands.
Founded in 2020 as a partnership between two freelancers, Matt Silcock and Ryan Orman, their operation has since grown into a team and network of creatives that deliver top-quality results to their clients. Based in both Auckland and Wellington, Stori Films serves the entire motu, frequently running productions simultaneously in both locations.
Says Matt Silcock (above right), co-director for Stori Films: “We’ve always been passionate about the power of storytelling. Our new name, Stori Films, reflects our dedication to weaving unique narratives that capture the essence of a brand to leave viewers feeling inspired, educated and connected”
Says Ryan Orman (above left), co-director for Stori Films: “We enjoy building connections with our clients by learning about their stories and goals and then customising our services to fit their needs. Storytelling is always a central part of our work, whether it’s the overall messaging in a video or the small details in our b-roll selections, so the name change aligns perfectly with our approach.”
Stori Films has, to date, produced videos for some of the most iconic brands in New Zealand, including Trade Me and JB Hi-Fi as well as industry bodies such as Engineering New Zealand and Horticulture New Zealand. As a result of its exceptional work, it has established a reputation as one of the most compelling story-based corporate content creators in the industry.
The move to Stori Films also enables the company to establish a distinct identity within the industry.
Adds Silcock: “We saw this as an opportunity to create a brand that truly embodies our vision and sets us apart”.
Stori Films went to branding agency Kindred Studio for help with its name as well as its fresh new visual identity.
Looking towards the future, Stori Films is focused on growing its team and establishing a stronger presence in the advertising industry. The goal is to bring its organic, human-centric storytelling approach to the forefront of this space. The rebranding marks a new chapter for the company and underscores its commitment to delivering exceptional services to its clients.
