Home ownership managers shine in latest ASB campaign via The Monkeys Aotearoa
New Zealand’s most loved advertising couple, Ben and Amy, have a new furry addition to the family in the latest ASB campaign – developed with The Monkeys Aotearoa, part of Accenture Song.
The new spots celebrate the role of home ownership managers in supporting New Zealanders throughout their changing home ownership journey.
In a series of light-hearted films, viewers are introduced to Sunny the Saint Bernard and Teana, a real life ASB home ownership manager, who helps Ben and Amy get back on track when they need to make changes to accommodate their new family member.
The campaign was created to highlight the knowledge and experience of ASB’s team, and how they can help, guide and support through all stages of the home ownership journey. Whether it’s a renovation, adjusting mortgage payments, making a home warmer, drier and more energy efficient, or protecting what’s important – ASB is here to help.
The multi-layered, integrated campaign will lead New Zealanders to the ASB website where they can find a local, personal Home Ownership Manager to suit their needs. Existing ASB customers can book an appointment directly in a Home Ownership Manager’s calendar via the ASB Mobile Banking App or self-serve through the many digital tools available; either improving the health of their home with a Better Homes Top Up Loan or protecting what’s important with ASB Life Insurance.
The campaign extends into ASB branches, digital and social channels, and includes interactive street posters specifically designed for dogs. The ‘sniff’ posters have a scent formulated to attract dogs – a collaboration with Phantom Billstickers stretching across sites in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
ASB chief marketing officer Helen Fitzsimons says while light-hearted, the campaign aims to show the tangible difference ASB’s team can make: “We’re here to help New Zealanders achieve their home ownership goals. We understand the Kiwi dream of owning your own home, and we know that even for those who do own a home, the current situation is rarely the final goal. As people’s lives, families and jobs expand and change, so too do their priorities, and we’re committed to helping our customers at every step of their home ownership journey.
“Our new campaign highlights the incredible work our home ownership managers do and how they go the extra mile for our customers, whatever life throws at them.”
Says Damon Stapleton, chief creative officer, The Monkeys Aotearoa: “A home is more than just four walls; it’s a space where life happens. But sometimes, your home gets out of sync with your life and you just need more space. In our latest campaign, we again turn to Ben and Amy to showcase how the constantly evolving life of a homeowner can be aided by a passionate ASB home ownership manager.”

Great ad. Nice job.
Woof
As this couple age, they get further and further away from the 18-34 demo they are suppose to inspire.
that dog is some top tier talent
Wake me up when Ben and Amy are over
A difficult thing to evolve in to something better
from the ANZ ad that plays cricket and has a motorcycle that flies in the air is way better
Here’s a thought. Next campaign, fast forward through time like the ANZ family, then have them retire so you can sell retirement products, then retire the characters forever. Everyone wins.
PS posters that attract dogs are far from new.
