25 Years of The Work [part one: 2002] ~ the very best advertising from NZ, Australia and Asia
APAC Creative History: This year Campaign Brief celebrates 25 years of The Work, which has honoured, and continues to honour, the very best advertising of each year from New Zealand, Australia and Asia ~ a true record of creativity for the entire region. Here in part one, CB looks back at 2002 – the first year of The Work, when it was presented in a hard-cover 350+ page book.
Colenso BBDO Auckland led the New Zealand agency pack in Campaign Brief’s The Work 2002, followed by DDB Auckland, Publicis Mojo Auckland, Clemenger BBDO Wellington, Saatchi & Saatchi, Auckland and Saatchi & Saatchi, Wellington.
Silverscreen ranked #1 New Zealand Production Company.
There are three things that differentiate The Work 2026 from traditional award shows:
1. Entries are FREE.
2. We are selective – to qualify for entry the ad or campaign must have already “passed the test” and been a WINNER or a FINALIST at a recognised city, national, regional or international awards show.
3. No wasted entry fees – only entries that are accepted into The Work incur an acceptance fee.
All entries are uploaded online: Judging will take place in June and notifications of acceptances will be sent out in July 2026. Accepted work will be featured in Campaign Brief’s The Work 2026 Gallery.
Entries are open to all agencies, production companies, individuals and suppliers who are based in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
The final deadline to enter The Work 26 is Friday June 5, 2026.
