Louis&Co welcomes Jonathan May to the roster

From the halcyon days of M&C Saatchi to travelling South America together and plenty of adventures in between, now they’re getting the band back together.

Louis&Co is excited to welcome Jonathan May to the roster – director, photographer, storyteller.

May’s reputation speaks for itself. A nine-time finalist in the Head On Portrait Prize, winning it in 2013. His commercial work spans Commonwealth Bank, Qatar Tourism, Ampol, Army Reserve, Coles, Uber Eats and the National Australia Day Council, among others.

His work has a quality that’s genuinely hard to manufacture – it does what good work should, makes you feel, makes you question. Whether on a commercial shoot or off on a personal project entirely of his own making, there’s always a story in the frame. His films and stills share the same instinct: find the human thing and make it fit to the brief.

He describes his own approach as meeting subjects “like Louis Theroux, but seeing the world through the eyes of Emmanuel Lubezki.” Hard to argue with that.

“The friendship has always been there, and so has the respect for each other’s work,” says Louis Molines, EP and Founder, Louis&Co. “It just felt like the right time to bring that together properly. We’re both excited about what’s ahead.”

Louis&Co represents Jonathan May across Australia and New Zealand for photography and directing.
