TBWA\NZ leads Aotearoa with three Global Grand Effie Contenders; Pitchblack Partners claims one
TBWA\New Zealand has had three papers named as Global Grand Effie Contenders in the 2025 Global Best of the Effie Awards, placing the agency’s work among the world’s most effective marketing efforts.
The three papers recognised are:
• 2degrees ‘Teaching Kids the Good and Bad Tings about First Phones’ in Positive Change: Social Good – Brands
• ANZ Bank New Zealand ‘From Dreaming Big to Knowing HOW’ in sustained Success – Services
• ANZ Bank New Zealand ‘The ANZ Good Energy Home Loan’ in Positive Change: Environmental – Brand
Pitchblack Partners has also been recognised for Popeyes ‘Breaking the Popeyes Global Launch Record on a Shoestring Budget’ in Small Budgets.
Joseph Judd, Head of Strategy at TBWA\New Zealand, said the recognition is a strong endorsement of effectiveness at a time when marketing is under increasing pressure to prove impact. It demonstrates the commercial impact of strong, enduring client partnerships and exceptional creative work: “At a time when our industry is being reshaped, and work has to work harder than ever, we’re incredibly proud to be counted among the global best of the best in effectiveness.
“These papers demonstrate the impact creativity can have when it goes upstream into clients’ businesses – shaping product, service and experience propositions that live beyond the confines of traditional advertising.
“For that to be acknowledged across three distinct but equally important categories – social impact, environmental change and sustained commercial success – makes it even more meaningful and speaks to the breadth of work TBWA\New Zealand is delivering.”
The Global Best of the Best Effie Awards is highly competitive, bringing together top-performing work from across Effie’s international network and are judged by senior marketing and agency leaders from around the world. The campaigns all demonstrate the strength of the full Omnicom New Zealand offering that includes PHD and Track Tribal as media and customer partners on the ANZ papers and OMD as media partner on the 2degrees paper.
This latest recognition adds to a strong run of effectiveness success for TBWA\New Zealand and its clients across the New Zealand Effie Awards, APAC Effie Awards and the IPA Awards. Reinforces the agency’s ambition to deliver disruptive creative thinking that drives strong commercial outcomes for its clients.
